Margret and Betty are lifelong friends in their seventies. Their friendship goes back to their Girl Scout troop. Margret and her husband Richard sell their house and move to the luxurious nursing home where Betty lives with her husband Thomas. The move was supposed to solve their financial problems while enabling them to enjoy an active, healthy life with good company. Unexpectedly, the Covid19 pandemic changes their lives forever.

Thomas contracts the virus and gets put on a ventilator. Betty's mental and physical health suffers after being instructed not to visit her husband and stay in her room. Margret feels trapped by the possibility of staying in isolation for weeks.
Betty stops eating and sleeping because of the stressful situation. Margret feels that she is losing her dear friend every day. Without having a plan where to go or where to stay, Margret manages to run away with Betty outside the nursing home. She drives to the forest where Betty and she spent the first Girl Scout camp. They jock, sing and cry until they fell asleep in the car. Betty has a nice dream about the summer camp. But she won't leave the dreamland. The next morning, the health workers find her dead with a shadow of a smile on her face.

Salem is a 9-year-old boy, lives with his mother on a small Island where people make a living by hunting pearls. He dreams of bringing his mother the most beautiful pearl in the sea to prove to her that he is a big boy.

With the help of his friend, the sea turtle Raihana, Salem sneaks onto a pearling boat.  When he tries to imitate the divers, a strong whirlpool pulls him down to the Jellyfish kingdom. After being cleared by the wise jellyfish, Salem makes a deal with the little jellyfish Zagtour to play on the glass slides together in exchange for Zagtour's help to find the big pearl.

While they are playing together, the Monster with Three Eyes attacks the kingdom again to eat their pearls that enable him to see. Salem finds himself responsible for bringing Zagtour home safely. He overcomes his fears and swims through the reefs only to find that the route has been blocked by debris. With the help of Zagtour's math skills, Salem figures out a way to escape.

After the attack, the kingdom becomes isolated, and Salem isn't able to leave. He makes a plan to use the pearl's glow to lead the monster into a deep cave and to lock him inside. All the jellyfish work with Salem to achieve his plan, though Zagtour disagrees with Salem on the details. At this point, Raihana finds the kingdom and insists that she and Salem leave soon.  To her surprise, Salem is committed to helping his new friends. After a dispute, Raihana and Zagtour team up with Salem and they succeed in getting rid of the monster together.

The wise jellyfish presents the most beautiful pearl in the kingdom to Salem to thank him for his help. Salem's dream comes true when he returns to the island and presents the charming pearl to his mother.
